Cuffs, Cards, Manicures and Relationships

How do you build relationships with 63 kids who need love and care and joy?

You spend time with them.
You invest in their lives.
You paint their nails.
You love them.

It is as simple as that.
You show love.

Love is shown to the residents of the children's home in Kathmandu in a variety of ways, most of which are interactive. The children recently had some time off school and that time was filled with fun activities!

For the boys, an afternoon of making leather cuffs, most of which proclaimed their love for Jesus!

The boys loved crafting their treasures, and took extra time to be sure they were perfect.

The younger girls spent a day making cards with art supplies. The cards turned out beautifully! Once the cards were finished the girls discovered another use for the art supplies - face paint!!

The older girls had the opportunity to leave campus and spend an afternoon enjoying snacks, laughter and nail polish. The day was full of the blessing of friendship.

Cuffs and cards, face paint and painted fingernails.
It seems so simple.
But these are relationships in progress and love in action.

Faithful Men

"And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also."
2 Timothy 2:2

Friday, August 30, the 7th graduation ceremony of the Vision Nationals-Nepal Bible training center. Nine men sat proudly in their graduation robes and listened to final words of encouragement from their teachers and mentors before heading back to their home villages, carrying with them 5 months of Biblical training and a passion for the Word.

"Attempt great things for the Lord and expect great things from the Lord."
William Carey

This was the charge to the men from Chandra, principal of the Bible training center, who entreated the men to return home committed to the Word of God, which will never change.

Samuel, the director of the Kathmandu campus, urged the men to be faithful in the responsibility given to them by the Lord, prepared to preach the gospel in every circumstance, in every moment.

With this graduation ceremony, over 90 men have been trained by Vision Nationals-Nepal to plant and shepherd churches in rural Nepal. Those men have planted nearly 60 churches. As with every other aspect of this ministry, the results are the Lord's. He has selected the men who will be part of this training. He has prepared the field of ministry in which they will labor. He has cleared the path they will take.

This ministry and training, these men, are the Lord's. And he has already began to shape their hearts.

"What was the most important thing you learning during your training?"

"Obedience to the Lord."

"Showing the love of God to each other."

"The importance of a good education in a good environment."

"Putting God in first priority."

"Showing the love of Christ to everyone and giving first priority to God."

"About the one true God and no one can snatch us from Him."

"Obedience and humility."

"We can do everything if we are with God."

Pray for these nine men, and for the others who have gone out from the Bible training center to plant churches and shepherd hearts. Pray their lives and ministries will reflect the truth of the Gospel, the power of the Word, and the heart of the One who called them.

"I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the increase. So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase."
1 Corinthians 3:6-7
